I’m Duarte Monteiro, founder of ZenSport, and helping athletes improve their speed, agility and strength is my passion.
I practice cutting edge athletic performance training with a focus on biomechanics to enhance human movement qualities on the field or court.
I’m always striving to stay current in the world of athletic performance, an academic pursuit that keeps me constantly learning and always growing.
As a former competitive martial artist and soccer player, I know the risks of athletics. I minimize those risks through movement literacy training, functional conditioning and corrective exercises that help mitigate injury and improve athletic performance.
My passion for helping others stems from my youth. My father began a professional soccer career in the Portuguese European FIFA League as a teenager, but it all ended prematurely several years later when he tore his ACL.
I grew up seeing the crushing effect his injury had on his aspirations firsthand. It inspired me to prevent that kind of personal tragedy for others. Even as a young promising martial arts combatant, I suffered the effects of improper training.
On a few significant occasions, I failed to take into account the importance of peak physical and mental preparation while competing at the national level. If I had a better understanding of effective strength and conditioning modalities, I know I could have gone farther than I did.
I aim to right that wrong every day by giving my clients the best physical and mental training knowledge possible. I serve best by helping to protect and empower young aspiring athletes with every session taught.

I’m Reese Valcich, Strength & Conditioning Coach at ZenSport. Helping athletes improve their strength, power, & conditioning is what I live for.
My journey began as a young, overweight, and unathletic kid through my elementary and middle school years.
With guidance from my brother, I eventually followed a mediocre program comprised of two machine exercises and a medicine ball. I skipped meals often and did not know how to eat properly to fuel my goals.
Over the course of my high school years, I tried to educate myself with magazine articles and adapted a very generic bodybuilding program with a slightly improved diet plan and started to see a noticeable difference.
Throughout my high school years of working with Coach Duarte as an ice hockey player and bodybuilding on my own, I began to narrow down my goals and evolve as an athlete. I shifted away from bodybuilding and became infatuated with strength and performance training.
Watching the human body perform at such high capacities with competitive weightlifting became a newfound passion. After I hung up the skates my senior year, I found a new sport in powerlifting. This path led me to want to help young athletes become the strongest versions of themselves to support their athletic ventures.
Fast forward to the present, I love what I do. I enjoy being able to play a role in shaping the lives of young and older clients by building their confidence levels with each and every session taught.
I’ve adopted the mantra of ‘always learning, always growing’. As a result, I’m dedicated to furthering my education with each passing year to ensure that our clients get the best and most current training possible.
